Barefeet2004:
A Motorcyclist's Tribute to the Barefoot Massage Therapists of America
Meet the Captain
A couple of years ago, Christine and I were making one of our trips to visit our daughter in New Hampshire. Because this often meant missing out on one of my regular massages here in Maine, I decided to check out the available therapist talent in Sue's area. In the course of doing that, I discovered Regina Burtt, owner of Pilgrimage Naturopathic Bodyworks in Plymouth.

During that particular visit, I wasn't able to see Regina, but there was something in the literature I picked up at her office that caught my attention. It was about a massage technique called ashiatsu oriental bar therapy. It described a type of barefoot massage that sounded worth getting acquainted with, so when we made our next trip I scheduled a session with Regina. In fact, she is qualified in so many modalities -- including esalen, lomi lomi, deep connective tissue, myofascial release, hot stone therapy, reflexology, shiatsu and Thai yoga -- that it was hard to choose which one to try. I ended up asking her to do an esalen/ashiatsu combination, and it was pure heaven!

Well, the rest of the story is easy to figure out. I was immediately hooked on ashiatsu. And on Regina. She started me down this path and lucky for me that she did. This is one addiction I never plan to cure, and for that I will always be grateful to her. I have come to look on her as a very dear friend as well as a remarkable therapist. Thank you, Regina, from your number one fan!
And so it is with both pride and pleasure that I dedicate this web site to Regina Burtt and invite her to serve as
Captain of Team Barefeet2004.
